Minn Kota Ulterra QUEST
Ulterra QUEST combines a fully automatic Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim system with the new 24/36 V brushless QUEST motor. The motor delivers more torque, longer runtime, and an even more advanced Advanced GPS Trolling System. Built-in MEGA Side Imaging or Dual Spectrum CHIRP, One-Boat Network compatibility, and Eco Mode make Ulterra an easy-to-use and efficient choice for demanding fishing.
Ulterra QUEST represents the next generation of Minn Kota motors, featuring a completely redesigned automation system, mechanical structure, and electrical architecture to handle heavier loads and more demanding operating conditions. The new 24/36 V dual-voltage brushless QUEST motor delivers significantly more torque and efficiency, and its control logic utilizes real-time load monitoring to ensure optimal power consumption and temperature management.
Ulterra’s iconic automation features—Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim—are integrated into a new, reinforced lift mechanism and updated mounting bracket that withstand greater lateral forces and dynamic loads caused by waves. All lift, lower, and trim functions can be performed via the remote control, Heel-Toe foot pedal, One-Boat Network® App, or Humminbird sonar without physical contact with the motor.
The redesigned Advanced GPS Trolling System utilizes a more precise positioning algorithm that improves Spot-Lock hold and route-tracking accuracy, particularly in crosswinds and unstable current conditions. The system includes Jog, AutoPilot, route recording, speed and direction control, and automatic boat positioning. As part of the One-Boat Network ecosystem, the Ulterra can be seamlessly synchronized with Humminbird devices, allowing control of the motor, sonar, and anchor systems from a single unified user interface.
The transducer solution integrated into the motor offers options for MEGA Side Imaging sonar or Dual Spectrum CHIRP technology. The transducer is located in a protected channel at the bottom of the motor, which minimizes cable exposure to impacts and ensures an interference-free signal at all speeds.
The programmable Heel-Toe foot pedal includes up, down, and trim controls, as well as a user-configurable quick-access button that can be set to functions such as AutoPilot, waypoint marking, or Minn Kota anchor control. The pedal is designed for precise speed and direction control even when the boat is moving erratically.
The motor’s electrical system includes real-time battery monitoring, which displays remaining runtime and alerts the user at the 20% charge level. At this point, the user can activate Eco Mode, which optimizes power consumption and extends runtime. Digital Maximizer™ enables up to five times the runtime compared to traditional stepper motors.
In terms of construction, the motor utilizes a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite shaft designed to flex but not break—and which comes with a lifetime warranty. An updated mount and lifting mechanism reduce resonance and improve motor stability in rough water.
The Ulterra QUEST comes ready to use: built-in MEGA Side Imaging, Heading Sensor, wireless remote control, Heel-Toe foot pedal, MKP-40 propeller, Ethernet cables, and all necessary installation components. The internal control system does not require a separate external heading sensor, which simplifies installation and reduces cabling.
